About Agnes 

Set in a heritage building in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, Agnes is an experience built around the elemental art of wood-fired cooking—no gas, no electricity, just flame. Set across three thoughtfully designed levels, including a main dining room, wine bar and terrace, Agnes celebrates creativity, craftsmanship and seasonal produce. Our meticulously curated beverage program—featuring a deep, evolving wine cellar, thoughtful cocktails and rare spirits—complements the bold flavours of our open-fire menu.

The Role

Agnes is looking for a professional and focused Chef to join the team at our woodfire-led venue in Fortitude Valley. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard, supporting the team during service, and maintaining the consistency and precision expected in one of Brisbane’s most recognised kitchens.

• Experience in a quality-driven kitchen environment
• Confidence in preparing and plating dishes to a consistent and high standard
• Strong understanding of mise en place, cleanliness, and section organisation
• Ability to follow recipes, plating guides and kitchen systems
• Comfortable working under pressure and in a fast-paced setting
• Positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Commercial cookery qualification or apprenticeship is highly regarded
